Actually I have a buffer. What is the procedure for buffing? I would be afraid that it will heat the varnish up and reduce it to a grey goo.

: Nice pictures. I've done the varnish/sanding thing both ways, and think you
: get a better result if you sand lightly after each coat. It's too easy to
: slap on about three or four coats and then realize that there are a few
: runs or sags that you didn't pick up early on, and are now more of a
: problem as you've added more varnish over them. You don't need a lot of
: sanding -- and yes, use wet sandpaper -- to identify the few runs you want
: to address in each coat.

: In the end, borrow a buffer and make your boat shine.
