Paul,

Thanks for the concern. It never did set up, so I took some acetone and wiped it off, sanded lightly, and recoated. It is probably not the best way to do it, but it was a very small area that I was patching so I figure it wasn't that big a deal.

I will be doing varnish coat #2 tonight. Is it better to wait longer than the minimum time to sand (24hr) between coats of varnish? I assume the longer it is left the harder it gets, therefore sands better?
