Looks great... I really like your simple and elegant design and am impressed that you found the wood at Home Depot.
I, too, am in Dallas and am nearing the end of stripping the hull of my Laughing Loon - North Star. Here lately, my garage temperature has been in the upper 90's to low 100's... but cools off into the mid 90's by 7:30 or so... It's a great weight loss program.
A pygmy kayak I fiberglassed in the summer a few years ago had no problems, especially when it came to drips.
Keep up the good work and I'll be anxious to see final pictures.
