i milled a cedar board yesterday 1x4, and got 12 strips out of it. 3 were unusable. and the others were very similar in thicknes, so i think i did a good job of it.
i tried using the router table to mill the edges with bead and cove, and had a very hard time findin a good height for the bit wher it was centered on the strip. some cut to deep, too high, or too low. and the strip is so thin it wanted to move around alot up down and out.
do you have any tips for
1 setimg the hight and depth of the cutters,
2 getting the wood throught the cutter effectively.
3. how perfect should the bead and cove be? the book says you need to be carfull on the cove edges, but it seemed like the router chewed up the edge pretty good to start with.
i must say i did this without feather boards and have determined they are very necessary.
