I built a Tern 14 with wires, which use very small holes and are very easy to work with and remove when the time comes. FWIW: our Pygmy kit came with black stove-pipe wire, not copper. It schmutzes your hands after awhile but is very strong and sure. Can't see any advantages to zip ties at all.

Oh, and the boat's a gas: our Miata for the water. Not a very long glide however, for which you'd probably prefer the Osprey.
