Problem is you're all using these newfangled nylons. I've skinned a couple of boats with #10 duck canvas and don't think it took more than 4 hours for either one. The canvas is tight, did one while cold out and the other while hot. Coat with spar varnish and it looks just like a seal skin. Costs less than half of the synthetics, so even if it doesn't last forever I can afford to do it again. By that time I'm sure I'll want another boat.
