Well, I don't roll and have no plans at this point to take a class. I expect I'll just be paddling reasonably close to shore, trying out boats.

I'm camping at Fort Flagler. Can't remember if my reservation is for Thursday night through Saturday night or not until Friday night. I'll be there Friday in any event.

Get that Silver finished - it's on my list of boats to paddle. :-)

: The water is coolish. If you are going to take a class or plan on wet exits,
: rolls, etc, you'll want immersion gear. Many don't bother if they are just
: trying out boats close to shore, but I like to have it. If you really want
: a wet suit there are probably people you could borrow from for a short
: while. You can also rent suits in town. The weather can vary considerable.
: Last year was pretty hot for a while and then suddenly cool and damp
: Sunday morning. Fog is not unusual. Dressing in layers is a good bet and
: fleece items are nice to have, but t-shirts and shorts may also be
