Probably true - the only downward pressure comes from the fact that the
deck is arched a little. But I think that'd be true of webbing straps
and buckles too, right? Anything that depends on attaching to the deck
and running over the hatches is going to have the same problem. So maybe
the answer is magnets or internal bungies.
