I should look you up, I'm planning on heading over to St. John next March or April. I'd love a paddle down in that area. I'm only going to be there for a week or so, I'm not too sure about shipping my yak for such a short duration.

: from Miami to St. Thomas and it cost $80 on a cargo vessel, containerized,
: LTL. That's around 1200 miles. You would have to pay a 4% tax here if
: valued over $1,000.00 US and for personal use. You might get a waiver if
: doing a round-trip, but you would have to get a letter from customs. I say
: that just to remind you that when you get to another country they could
: hit you with unexpected taxes, and some can be as much as 50, even 100% of
