Strip: Bungee decklines

I'm finishing the deck lines for my Guillemot Double and looking for some insight. What are your ideas to connect the ends of bungee cords together to complete the "Loop". I haven't been able to locate crimper "c" clips that are used on typical bungee cords with the hooks on the ends. Temporarily I have zip strips, but that has those sharp edges to contend with. Knots seem large and bulky. You could always sew or tightly wrap coated wire to connect?
What other options have you out there used?
