There can be some really fun conditions there near Shelter and Cedar Islands (where we paddled last September)..and nice reflected waves off the cliffs at Painted Rocks, too. Fall and Spring are usually best for conditions. Winter gets admittedly cold, and when there are good "conditions" in the summer time, they're usually accompanied by thunder and lightning. Lightning is about the only weather feature I don't like on Flathead!
