Pick up a tube of Methyl Methacrylate for emergency repairs.
I blew a "Leidy Lid" hook on the way to R2K1. I didn't have any quick cure epoxy along, so I used MM to glue it back on. Roughed up both surfaces, and used it just like epoxy.
It just blew a month ago. The glass actually delammed from the wood strips. I think it's more than adequate for temporary repairs!
Incidentally, where the delamination occurred was glass over redwood, and it was less delamination of the glass-redwood, as it was the outer layer of redwood being peeled back from the bulk of the strip. I also ran into some redwood peeling when I did the Guillemot coaming chop job. Perhaps we should do some testing to see if redwood is really suitable for strip construction. I think it's too soft.
