Sounds like "yakman" pushed a few buttons for you, but thanks for your post. After I thought about it, he pushed a few buttons for me, too.
- First of all, I appreciate the fact that most of us use our real names. That's helpful for all of these discussions. What's the point of the alias?
- The tone of the original post felt somehow "patronizing". If I'm "missing something", well show me someone else's good work so I can learn...that's the purpose of this forum.
- If the post was supposed to recount some sort of kayak journey to the guru of builders, then just post the darn thing in the trips forum.
Finally, I read the original yakman post with more than a raised eyebrow and realized I didn't "get it", then understood there was nothing to "get", and dismissed it as one of those odd, weird posts that occasionally pop up.
Somewhere, grasshoppa, there's an old builder sitting on a beach by a beat up kayak...and he has psychic knowledge of my wife's kayak... dee do, dee do...dee do...dee do...
