I agree, however I stow my GP's on the back deck, and a standard rudder would interfere. It took a bit of thought to go with this rudder I will admit.

As for the windage, check out the picture below and you will see that because the rudder uses a foil it is also smaller, and even in its awkward position it doesn't drag as much as a conventional rudder. Besides, I figure the rudder will likely always be down when the boat is in the water, and this has a much lower profile when the rudder is down, therefore having less windage than a conventional rudder.

.... of course that's what they say, I guess we will see. I'll post an honest review when it's installed.
