Building the stern of the Shooting Star was trying but fun for me. The heat gun helped alot. I clamp the heat gun down and hold the strips in my hand and twist and bend them into shape while heating the back side of the strips. I build and then read instructions and as a result had to tear off the pine bottom section of the stern since they are layed continously along the section and on to the stern section to add strength and tie the whole thing together. The bow is three pieces cut out and laminated together. Pretty simple. The upper bow was a little harder for me but not that bad. The deco was put on last. I fastened cardboard over the shape where the deco was to go and glued it onto the cardboard. Then sanded the cardboard off the curve deco strip, cleaned up the top and bottom edges of the deco strip and glued it between the strips.
