I put a set of these, including the rudder, in my workout/race boat a year or so ago and have broken both foot pegs. I do have relatively strong legs and a tendency to lock into the boat hard, but both failures came at times when I was not hammering.
They were both replaced of course, and I haven't had a failure since, but then I haven't been paddling that boat very much lately either. As each side of the same set broke, it may have been a problem with a specific batch of plastic or molding.
In hindsight I would not have bought them and will not do so again. I have left them in the boat, but will chuck at least the pedal system if I get another break.
