I guess it is a fact of life. Nothing is new and shiney forever. As long as the kayak is being used, it is fulfilling its function and you can't fault that. I take heart that my Guillemot s&g is holding up pretty well after two summers with no special care. So there might be some hope for my stripper when it is finished. - I am just going through pre-building angst.

I will have to build a skin on frame (sof) at some stage to check them out. You are right about sof - worst case scenario is a broken rib or two and a re-skin; how hard could that be?

Paddle on and on and on and ......
