: John--

: A few questions that may lead to a few more: 1) Preference for cedar strip or
: stitch 'n' glue? Skin on frame?

I was thinking Strip or S&G. I' know that If i build a S&G as my first boat, there will be a Strip built one next year.

: 2) Paddling experience? Intended use?

No paddling experience, outside a familiarization course taken in a pool several years ago.
Fresh Water lakes in TN, Gulf of Mexico off southern florida. Would prefer some cargo capacity so I can go camping for a night or two, but not a requirement.

: 3) Woodworking skill level?

Shop in JR highschool. One summer working in a wood shop durring college... till I cut off part of 1 finger using a machine on my own that I'd never been shown how to use. A few minor projects durring the decades since then. I am very careful to learn the propper techniques now... besides, don't think I'll have to use a joiner on this boat :-)

: I'm sure others will have more questions and even more answers.

: Mike
