I'm thinking up ways to gain more room in my dry dock (short of building a new one, or relocating the furnace, water heater, freezer, etc).

I'd like to hang strips from the ceiling. The way my space is configured, the only place available to do so would mean that I'd have strips hanging a mere inches below two flourescent light fixtures.

Any issues I need to know about that? Heat? Fire? Wood discoloration? Bad karma? Anything?
