S&G: mixing up the order of work

I marathoned last weekend and managed to get my hull glassed. I am hoping to step out of sequence this weekend and glass my deck--prior to cockpit/coaming work. I have already cut hatches but not the cockpit hole. If I glass the entire deck I should be able to cut the cockpit hole with no problem. Is there any drawback to building the coaming when the adjacent deck is already glassed? I plan to build a strip riser with bent/laminated layers of wood for the lip. Besides the fact that the coaming will have to be taped on top of the glassed deck I cannot see a problem. From my point of view it seems OK to proceed with this. Thanks in advance.
