I'm looking forward to seeing your installation. I'm doing mine in a different sequence - install into the hatch lid first, then embed the mate in the lip. I'm NOT going to use the Vaclav inset gasket this time, but HOPE to be able to build a 1/16" step in the lip for a thin gasket mounted on the lid.

I just installed (which is why I'm in the house reading the BB) .75 oz bias cut over the magnets on the lids, wrapped around the edge of the hatch onto the top - trying to provide a little more protection to the edges of the hatches - I've got a couple spots on the Return hatches where the epoxy wore or cracked, with water seeping into the end grain & lifting the glass.

As to Roger's comment - he's right, but I'm lazy. I used 9 pair on my Return hatches and they stay on at 75 mph (or more - it's Arizona ...)
