Since nobody else has answered this one, I figured that I can at least point you in the right direction.
Robert Woodard lives in that area and has posted tons of trip reports over on the "kayak trips" bulletin board that is a companion to this building board. He also has a very good webpage that included reports on all of his trips in the area. http://woody.myhomeserver.com/
You can also check out the web page of the Chesapeake Paddler's Association at: http://www.cpakayaker.com/
There is some pretty good information there. The area has such a variety of water, you can find pretty much whatever type of water you are looking for all within an hour or two of driving or less.
