Joe, yes, they definately need the seals still. I've used marine silicone on my 17 ft Tern, but I'm playing around with some different weatherstriping on this one. I need to get the hold down system in place to know what to use. What I use will depend on whether I can get the right combination of tension downward, and weatherstriping thickness, so they sit perfectly flush. The silicone acheived that well.
