That is my Skinny Walrus. The construction is Putz style and the forms were based off the numbers in his book, but scaled to make it 2" narrower. I used the basic dimensions and shape of the original in Adney and Chappelle's Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America. The drawing of this is near the front of Putz's book.

It is a very nice kayak, it rolls well, and has excellent primary and secondary stability, but track too stongly. I have also had lots of problems with the frame breraking. The skin has held up nicely. It is a 10 oz polyester from Tacoma Tent and Awning, coated with water-based outdoor Varathane. The rubrail is Mahogany, but is getting beat up pretty badly, the skin is doing much better. Original weight was 27 pounds, but it has put on weight over the years, just like me. :(

The pic below is Greg Stamer Checking out it's primary Stability at SSTIKS.

This kayak will be at R2K3 on Friday and Sunday, but not Saturday.

: Can someone please help me identify this kayak that is posted from R2K2
: pictures on Redfish Kayaks web page? Is this a Walrus? I've started a
: Morris/Cunningham sof, which is going well, but I really like the look of
: the rub rail on this boat. Also, is this a canvas covering or nylon?

: Thank you,

: Bryan
