Gregory,

Quite a few people fly fish the point with candle fish (sand lance) pattern streamers. The silvers and the pinks are often very close to shore as they round point. Many fish I catch are withing 6 feet of the shore and I see then before they strike. You must resist the urge to set the hook before the strike. People are fishing 7 to 9 weights, mostly tapered floating but some with shooting tips and some sinking. Unlike kings, which hug the bottom, pinks and coho suspend in the water column, often right at the surface early and late in the day. Many silvers I catch are out of the water with the first jump just as I feel the strike. When the fishing is good, it can be quite exciting. The rain last night should trigger some inland movement. Could be good.
