How about trolling a hand line in the tide rip during Reg's class?! :D

(don't get caught on a sharp lure doing a rescue, though!)

S

: Quite a few people fly fish the point with candle fish (sand lance) pattern
: streamers. The silvers and the pinks are often very close to shore as they
: round point. Many fish I catch are withing 6 feet of the shore and I see
: then before they strike. You must resist the urge to set the hook before
: the strike. People are fishing 7 to 9 weights, mostly tapered floating but
: some with shooting tips and some sinking. Unlike kings, which hug the
: bottom, pinks and coho suspend in the water column, often right at the
: surface early and late in the day. Many silvers I catch are out of the
: water with the first jump just as I feel the strike. When the fishing is
: good, it can be quite exciting. The rain last night should trigger some
: inland movement. Could be good.
