If you haven't drilled the holes yet ... consider NOT doing so! I have a stripper & have the same footbraces. I bought a set of footbrace anchors that are essentially machine screws that have a perforatd 1 in. square metal plate instead of a screwhead. Once you lay out where you want your braces, epoxy the anchors to the hull using thickened epoxy. While the epoxy was still soft, place a 3" square piece of fiberglass cloth over the stud (tiny hole in Center) and worked the cloth into the epoxy. Seems to be sold as a rock! No Holes in boat! & very adjustable!

To make things easier, I bought the adapter plate from Seal-Line that lets you adjust the height of the braces. The plate also acted as the template for me to correctly place the anchors on the hull. The plate is just a rectangular piece of plastic with a series of holes that you use to attache the braces to the plate & the plate to the hull. It lets you raise & lower the braces to find the most comfortable fit (especially with the Toe-pilots).
