April and may are not too bad in Texas. Right now,aug. 8, it is 108 outside. Temperature starts dropping off in september. Late september or october probably would be ok. One problem is that most of the places I go have very rocky shorelines. I'll have to find a sandy beach in central, or north/central Texas for something like this. But....we could have a little teaser get together say...Oct. 25/26 if there is any interest. I'm thinking finished and unfinished would be nice to have. Stages of building are nice to see. I know my strip built won't be finished until around january..even though it will see several hundred miles and a marathon race before then. Still....for a larger gathering where most people can get ready and plan on I'm thinking april...or may. Any comments, discussions, plans, alternate dates, locations...anything? Let me know. Kayaks and canoes are becoming the thing to have....and those who build their own have something to be proud of. Heck...those who buy wood composite boats can be, and are, proud of the boats they have.
