Gerald, it seems to me that there is some sort of paddler-fest held at Sam Houston State Park at Huntsville every year, although I can't remember when it is. The reason I mention it is because it may mean that Lake Raven (part of the park) has a suitable beach, and I think is closed to gas engine traffic. It also, being a state park, has camping facilities.

Whatever you do, forget Lake Conroe. A fella could walk across that body of water without getting his feet wet by stepping on the ski boats and jet skis. If they weren't all doing 110 mph, that is.

At any rate, throw the party whenever the spirit moves you, and I will endeavor to be there! And write me if I can be of any help organizing this thing.
