Thanks for the suggestions. Glen, I'm as impressed with the cleanliness of your shop as I am with the beauty of the finish on your boat (I guess they're related, huh?!). Unfortunately, I don't have hatches and wondered about doing something like you've done just through the cockpit. I assume you varnish the bottom of the boat a la Sistine Chapel - (from below). If so, does that get hairy with drips down the brush?
Rehd, I haven't yet drilled for toggles and this idea is fascinating. I've done my bow end pour but not stern. I'll have to do that first and then consider your idea which sounds pretty straightforward.
