I'm wondering... are you still going to have a bright finish over the wood strip construction using 10oz. glass? I've heard 9oz glass tape and sheets tended to cloud the wood look. I know that on the stems of my Rob-Roy canoe I over-lapped 3.25oz Satin ( tight weave ) cloth and added a layer of 6oz. open weave tape and you can most definitely see a difference in the color... and transparency.

Would it hold up as well if you used 3/8" or 1/2" and then a couple of layers of 4 to 6oz. glass outside and similar inside.

It would be a shame to build a great looking wood-stirp boat and have it cloud over because of the glass covering.

Just a thought...
