Strip: End Pours and a ball of glass strands

"Hey", folks.

I'm not ready for this step yet, but I was thinking ahead to end pours. I was thinking that instead of putting a bunch of filler in the epoxy mix, I'd wad up a bunch of single threads of glass into a fairly tight ball about the size of a baseball, shove that into the end with a long stick, and pour epoxy over it, letting it soak in all the way through. Maybe I'd do this in a couple passes to make sure that all the glass was soaked properly and compact to keep air pockets at bay.

Couple question...

1. Anyone try that?

2. Seems stronger than filler. Wouldn't it be? Or, is it overkill?

3. If I had enough glass in there, would it be lite enough, or still too heavy?

Thanks,

Rick
