So far, I've read

- Morris' book
- Cunningham's book
- Starr's book
- Petersen's 2 books
- All three Little Kayak Books
- Cunningham's Sea Kayaker articles

and I've watched Bob Boucher's video. Phew! Oh, yeah, I've built two boats and just bought the wood for my third one today.

For someone starting out any of the first three on the list will help you build a good boat. I recommend reading all three, as they have different perspectives and methods, and that helps to broaden one's understanding of the flexibility of the process. That really seems to be the biggest advantage of having multiple sources of information. Once you have a basic understanding of the process, Petersen's books and the Little Kayak Books (if you can find them) will make more sense. My boats have been built using a combination of methods and the third one will likely be even moreso.

If you decide to use just one book, you may want to ask about the method here, as people have found tricks to make some techniques easier and/or better, and we've also found a few mistakes and ommissions.
