In Response To: Other: neoprene for spray skirt (Matt Essar)

: Hi,

: I attended the demo on making a neoprene spray skirt last weekend at R2K3. It
: was very well done and very interesting, not to mention usefull.

: One question though - what thickness of neoprene should be used???? Options
: are 2mm - 5mm.

: Thanks,

: Matt

Hi Matt,

Three to five mil is good. Less than that I would overlap the seams and use only N-2 neoprene (nylon 2 sides), thicker than that may not fit under the coaming lip.

Since completing that last skirt I have determined that a two inch oversize measurement would be more accurate than the three inches that I used on the demo.

Good luck and feel free to contact me during the process.

Reg
