Hello,
I shipped a kayak from Seattle to New York. Wrapped the whole thing in HD bubble wrap, cardboard overtop of that and then shrink wrapped it all with FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE labels on the inside of the wrap. (see through of course) A search on the net should get you a list of carriers. Don't recall which one I used. A little more was paid because the item gets toploaded. It's a light load as opposed to crating it which costs you more because of weight. As far as I know, door to door is not available, but who knows? For the right price ANYTHING is available. So terminal to terminal may be your only bet. After 5 days the boat arrived without a scratch. Total $$ was about $220.00 including the wrapping supplies.
Best of luck with it!!
