: I'm sorry that I missed the demo at R2K3.
: I have some 3mm nylon-2-sides. Can I just use the black neoprene glue with
: the nylon on or should I remove the nylon somehow on areas where I can't
: do a butt joint?
Just glue up over the nylon. Apply one coat and wait 5 minutes then apply a second coat and wait ten minutes and press it together firmly.
: Was there a handout for the demo? Any chance you could email it or send it to
: me? I have seen the web site referenced on the John L. Sweet site, but
: haven't made the leap to trying a make my own neoprene skirt yet...
: Thanks
I don't have a handout for this but it is a streamlined version of the J Sweet skirt. The pattern is the coaming tracing plus 2 inches added. Cut darts at the curves to take in the excess. Center hole gets cut in 4 inches forward of the coaming. Waist band and shock cord can be sized by feel since stretch varies on different materials. Instead of making a conical form I just stretch the skirt over a 2x6 board that has the same perimeter as the underside of the coaming. I will eventually get some photos and instructions posted but not soon. Feel free to contact me when you get started.
