: I am planning to move my strip built kayak up with me to Maine for the year
: and I'm not sure if I should be worried about the cold weather and the
: fiberglass. It will be stored in a non-heated space and I have no idea
: about how -35 degree weather could affect any part of the boat. Any
: suggestions would be appreciated! Also, If anyone has a favorite paddling
: place in Maine let me know!
: Thanks!

In the area where I live in Minnesota it can get to –20 degrees in the winter. My two strippers are kept in an unheated detached garage. I have had no problems with either. The garage even thou it is unheated, never gets as cold as it is outside.

I know people who live in northern Minnesota in places were it gets –50 to –60 in the winter and they have not had any problems either.
