: If you are sure, I MEAN, sure you didn't mix incorrectly I'd contact your
: epoxy
: maker and ask them about this "cooker" idea. In Florida you may be
: doing a lot
: more cooking than Nick is doing in Connecticut.
: The heat may be keeping the resin soft.

Thanks Rob for the quick response. The yak has been in the garage with temps running abt 90+ /day and upper 70's-lower 80's/night. I've had no problems with any mix so far - I try to be very careful. I only started encountering the prob with the epoxy staying just barely tacky(slightly stick to the touch)when I applied the seam tape. Yes, I know - it makes no sense at all!
And yes, I realize Fl sun cooks hotter than Ct but I do appreciate you making sure that I did. Thats the kind of advise that lots of people leave out that gets inexperienced people (like me) in trouble.
I only wrapped it in black plastic and set it in the sun this morning(and keeping close watch on the temp) cause I put a 100 watt light in the cockpit opening the other night and left it overnight and it seemed to cure in the area close to the light.
My wife and I both mixed while doing the seams and she's more careful than I am. I know I'm repeating myself here, but the seams are just barely tacky, and I do mean "barely". I just don't want to sand if its not fully cured - even if it means I have to wait till I get back from my trip!
Thanks again Rob - I appreciate the info.
Charles.
