I can't think of how you would use one to make a stripper. I would rent the best one I could get my hands on for the moulding project. For the stripper... Cedar is so soft you can miter the strips with a utility knife or a small dovetail saw. I do it a number of ways but you can eyeball the angle and then get a perfect fit with a hand plane.
