I'm new to this thread, but I have yet to meet a "BBS personality" who was not a great person in real life. And I've met 30 or 40 of these fine folks. It's rather insulting, no, actually quite callous of you to insinuate that they would abuse your wife. And if they ever did, I'd personally thwack them upside the head.

In Nick's forum guidelines, he asks that you post using your real name, and show your email address. What could be clearer? We are only discussing this thanks to his generousity. Honor his request, and follow his guidelines.

If you're not proud to sign your name to what you have written, probably it should not have been written.

Mike Hanks is an honest gentleman. Re-read his post to you, and take his advice to heart. If I could add one bit of advice..."Yakman" has quite nearly burned his bridge clear through. Post using your real name, and no need to admit to ever having used that moniker.

This board is a great resource. A lot of pertinent discussion and understanding has occurred--and lots of it where people have not always agreed. I've had some very passionate disagreements with some of the folks on this forum, and am fortunate to call them my friends. But you don't have to be hostile in your disagreement. We are all richer and more knowledgeable for one another's presence, but by and large, posters will spare very little time to be insulted.
