I finished my boat in time for Memorial Day this year. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed that my formerly smooth surface has started to show a hint of weave pattern. Just very slight, you have to catch it with edge back lighting to notice. No one but me (and you folks) would ever notice. And it's not everywhere yet, just where the fill coats were thinner.
Ok, no big deal. Once the season is past, I'll sand, skim with epoxy and revarnish. Or? Varnish doesn't cover much, but maybe a light sand and skim of the existing varnish base (4 coats of helmsman) will do?
Finally, if I'm reapplying epoxy, how perfect do I need to be in removing the varnish? My epoxy build was thin in several places, and I want to be as tender with the sander as I can.
Thanks,
