Other: Rudder for Double Necessary?

Greetings All:

Launched the Guillemot Double a couple of weeks ago and have having Lots O'Fun. So much so I havn't sent the launch pictures yet!!! Sure am getting a lot of gawkers who never saw a wood kayak before!!!

First as a novice paddler I'm sure I have a ways to go on my / our paddling technique. But it seems that my Double veers slightly to either side after several straight tracking strokes. It is kind of like it's oscelating a bit, even with little or no wind. A little more so and weathercocking with 10+ mph winds. I've seen a few posts on rudders and pose the question to you out there, hopefully a few double owners.
1) Did you have this problem?
2) If you installed a rudder, did it improve tracking substantially enough to warrant installation of a rudder?
3) Or is it more an issue of improving my forward paddling technique?

We're using 2 Feathered Euro paddles which I made per Nick's Book's design and we're paddling on inland lakes here in Michigan. Nothing substantial in regards to wave action to speak of. Thanks in advance for your never ending opinions.

DAVE
