I made knee/thigh pads out of minicell for my Artic tern 14. Mine are glued along the edge of the cockpit in about the the same fore/aft as Ted's. I carved the minicell so that my knee and thighs have a good grip. I set mine so that when I'm paddling my knees are not right against the pads. When I raise my knee a little then they are in contact. Try sliding them around and duct tape them in place and go for a paddle and see how it feels before epoxying them in place. You mught have to do some carving to your knee pads to make them fit you better. Good luck.
