Dave - buy yourself a heat gun before you start your next boat. While Rob uses it for bending strips, I found it wonderful for setting the glue so that I could move on to putting the next strip in place. Seems to me that there is very little downside to going without staples unless you're trying to overcome a tremendous amount of twist, etc. In that case, use the heat gun to prebend the strip. It's the best tool I bought for my second stripper.
