quick sand and a quick coat of varnish??

The glass goes all scritched and opaque when you sand. Opaque is a strong word, but you will be nervous. When you splosh on your first coat of varnish it goes all clear and pure wood finish - sigh of relief all round. And the water droplets just sit on fresh varnish in the most satisfying manner.

I understand you want to leave the epoxy to cure for about a month to go nice and sanding hard. There is merit in paddling while you wait to wash of the amine blush etc. at start to bond with your new baby.

I guess just don't leave the kayak outside for days on end until you have your 6 coats of varnish.
