Hi Dave, congratulations on your new double. I launched my double two weekends ago (see picture) and I know how much fun you are having. In my case the boat did not want to turn. It took about 1,000 yards to bring it around 90 degrees :D I plan on putting a rudder on for the reasons mentioned earlier. I found that doing a "J" stroke at the end of my power stroke helped a lot. I don't normally employ that stroke in my single but it works great in this situation. Just leave your paddle in the water as your partner goes into the next stroke and let the paddle blade steer to one side or the other.
