So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure I have no idea the pain you must be feeling. I can only imagine. At times like this, it seems to me, that you'll spend alot of time reflecting on many things that you truly value.
I remember walking through the hospital after getting a call at work that my dad had a heart attack. As I walked through that door and saw him wired up, the pain and fear on his face startled me. I was very unprepared for seeing him like that. After bypass surgery he's fine but things changed a bit between us. I guess there are many things we can hold onto forever down here.
I, for one, am honored that you chose this forum to share your grief. Please know that our prayers are with you.
