Great job on your open double! I was admiring the pics that were posted from R2K3 last week. Too bad it was quite a ways from Michigan to PTW. It sure would of been great to see all the pieces of art that we are only able to admire here at the KBBB. Not to mention being able to paddle every conceivable style of boat out there!
In regards to your J-stroke advice...I find that is what I'm having to do every 3rd or 4th stroke. Pretty much the same as my past canoeing experience taught me. It just seems like a lot of extra effort for correction strokes. Never being in a sea kayak single, reminds me of WW kayaks. Thanks for the tip, let me know what rudder system you decide on. I'm ready to move forward with mine, probably a self made creation.
