Something like this? I developed it for trout trolling, and redid the Tred Avon for R2K using a pair of these platforms, with a rod holder and a small tacklebox on each. THe net is attached underneath on a bungee. THe rod holder is mounted on the inside because I lost one from the other way, its release is just at the right position to let it fall out if its mounted on the outside.

These worked well on the TA out in the rough at Ft Worden, we caught several kelp greenling and some small lingcod, too. Wish we'd hooked into a salmon. THe only thing I need to change is to go to slightly smaller tacklebozes, so the rod can be put straight up. It gets in the way paddling for the rear paddler, as the cockpits are a little too close together. I found htat using a storm paddle and a sliding stroke eliminated that problem, and is good practice for the sliding stroke, too. The TA is 36" wide, its like a barge. Hand;les the rough quite well though! Very stable, never a thought about capsising.

THanks Bill Price, for the picture. Im not sure why it wont post?

: Hello again.. A couple of things on fishing from kayaks. I am looking for not
: only lay out ideas but perhaps a plan recomendation. Curently my thoughts
: are a Guilemot Exepidition single. If i am out for fun it needs to have
: the ability to roll yet to be stable enough to fish from if there is such
: an animal thats the kayak i am looking for. Would a rudder also be the way
: to go?

: Pictures of kayaks rigged up for fishing would be awesome. Slap a rod holder
: on the thing and your done? I guess what I am asking is how far do people
: go with this? fishfinders, trolling moters, gps, paddle rest, small
: shelf/storage area reachable on the fly for tackle and such?? If anyone
: does or has done stuff I would love some details..

: Thanks
