: ...is this the deck we're looking at?
That is the mold layed up over the plug. I am working on fairing the hull plug during the cure times on the deck.
:If so...where's the hull? Keep posting
: the information. Some of the information on layups and material should
: transfer quite readily to strip builts.
I will post as much as I can. I am leaving out some specifics as I don't want to be posting trade secrets to the internet. All of the steps that I have talked about are standard mold making techniques right out of the book.
:Many prototypes for production boats are strip built.
This plug was built out of solid MDF. It is really just a modification of a previous boat to accommodate the latest olympic boat rules
:Tell us about building the plug...or did I miss that?
Look at my post from last week. I talked about how they were built and show picture of both the hull and deck plug
The only problem I have is that every time somebody comes up with
: something new, perhaps better...or just different, I want to try it....and
: I don't have that many years left in my life. Vacuum bagging is certainly
: something I'm going to be trying...even if on small scale.
I have to admit I have been facinated by learning this process particularly the post cure under preasure. I believe it was developed origionally for aero space applications

Jack
